I was looking for a place to stay near Amarillo, TX – while toatally avoiding Amarillo. I found Palo Duro State Park – which they call the Grand Canyon of Texas. You are driving along a flat road with ranches on every side when you turn a corner and there is a beautiful red rock canyon in front of you. It is a bit out of the way, but totally worth it.

If you haven’t been to Yellowstone- you should go. We only had a day to see the park but it was Beutiful. On the way out we saw about ten Buffalo. Some of them were on the road blocking our way. Unfortunately I couldn’t get to my camera for that.
